CHAMBER OF KASTORIA

The Chamber of Kastoria as Legal Person of Public Right was founded in 1948 and it constitutes an obligatory, self-existent and independent union that practices commercial activity, in all the region of Prefecture of Kastoria.

It has 3.757 registered members. The Chamber of Kastoria, in the frame of its activities and based on the relative legislation, functions as below:

  1. Submits advisory proposals to the state for trade issues concerning the manufacturing sector and the sector of services, as well as general proposals that are related to issues regarding the growth of the national economy.
  2. Participates in committees and bodies of infrastructure work and contributes, with each means, to the trade growth of the manufacturing sector, the sector of services, and in general for the increase of the production and the productivity.
  3. Investigates tendencies and developments in the national economy and submits proposal with particular interest in the growth of the Greek economy competitiveness
  4. Undertakes, individually or in collaboration with other institutions, the management of industrial and free areas, commercial centres, permanent exhibitions and showrooms
  5. Constitutes committees and teams of work from its members, employees or third parties, as well as it assigns in specialized persons the development of projects and other work, that are interrelated with the aims.
  6. Creates networkings with other institutions aiming in the effective briefing, the diffusion of information, as well as particular developmental objectives.
  7. Implements European and National Operational Programs for its members benefit.
  8. Informs its members for the existing sources of financing and subsidies the European, National and Special Funding Programs.
  9. Collects and provides information for the foreign economies and suggests the ways of accessing their markets.
  10. Provides information regarding international exhibitions and reports and records the global demands for Greek products from foreigner enterprises.
  11. Organizes exhibitions and trade fairs individually or in collaboration with other official institutions in Greece and abroad.
  12. Allocates a privately-owned exhibition centre 20.000 square meters.
  13. Organizes regular meetings for the direct briefing of its members.
  14. Organizes certified training seminars for the enterprises and the executives of the enterprises.
  15. Publishes certificates of origin of exported products and CARNE ATA.
  16. Holds expertises and participates in the resolution of commercial differences
  17. Ratifies the signatures of its members
  18. Finances initiatives that contribute in the economic growth of its region or more generally the national economy as well as cultural, social and national events.

The Hellenic Fur Federation was founded at  February of 1991 and is the secondary trade union of the Greek fur sector and its most important representative, in Greece and in the European Union, as well as in the whole world. Hellenic Fur Federation is consisted from five primary fur associations, with over than 2.000 members, small, medium and big enterprises employing. Hellenic Fur Federation is a member of the International Fur Trade Federation, and Fur Europe.

INTERNATIONAL FUR FEDERATION

The International Fur Federation was established in 1949 and is the only organisation to represent the international fur industry and regulate its practices and trade. The federation promotes the business of fur, establishing certification and traceability programmes on welfare and the environment. It is also committed to supporting young designers and retailers who intend to go into fur and fashion.

The International Fur Federation represents 56 members associations in over 40 countries around the world. The members encompass all parts of the fur trade including farmers, trappers, dressers, manufacturers, brokers, auction houses, retailers and designers. Each of these members have signed a strict code of conduct committing them to upholding the industry-relevant laws they fall under in their home countries.

The Region of Western Macedonia covers a total surface of 9451 km2, 7.2% of country’s total. The nature of the region is mountainous, while Aliakmonas travels down through it. The Region of Western Macedonia is situated in the northern part of Greece and borders with Albania and FYROM. It is the only region without sea coast. Western Macedonia is divided into the regional units of Grevena, Kastoria, Kozani and Florina.

The productive character of the area is still determined by the energy industry and secondarily the fur industry. However, the virgin and still underexplored landscapes provide a fruitful ground for tourism to develop.

The national exhibition agency was founded nine decades ago and throughout this period, TIF-Helexpo has accumulated tremendous experience and know-how in the management of exhibition infrastructure and the organisation of exhibitions.
